A milestone: WHO publishes first global guideline on infertility
In November 2025 the World Health Organization published its first worldwide guideline on infertility – with the aim of fundamentally improving access to fertility medicine.
Why is this a milestone?
Infertility is not a marginal phenomenon. It affects an estimated 186 million people worldwide and deserves medical attention at the highest level. The WHO guideline sends a clear signal here.
What the guideline calls for
- Equal access to fertility treatments worldwide
- Better diagnostics and treatment options
- Destigmatisation of infertility
- Stronger integration into national health systems
Our stance
As a practice that has been accompanying people on this path for over 30 years, we expressly welcome this step. Because the more knowledge, openness and care there is, the better for everyone who wishes to have a child.
