Cost coverage through your employer: Carrot

Besides statutory and private health insurance, there is another way to finance your fertility treatment – through your employer. Our practice is listed as a partner clinic with Carrot, an internationally active provider of family-building benefits that more and more companies offer their employees as an additional benefit.

If your employer – or your partner's employer – offers Carrot as a benefit, parts of your treatment or the full costs may be covered through it. This applies regardless of whether you are treated with us as a statutory, privately insured or self-pay patient.

How to proceed: Ask your HR department whether Carrot is included in your benefits.

PKV

Privately insured patients are billed according to the GOÄ (the German scale of medical fees). The couple does not have to be married – but there must be a medical necessity.
Recommendation: Before IVF/ICSI, obtain a cost approval from your private insurer. The privately insured partner must be the cause of the infertility (causation principle). From around 43 – 45 years of age of the woman, many private insurers refuse approval.
