Wanting a child as a female couple – how we support you
Do you wish to have a child together as a couple? We support you – professionally competent and with an open heart.
Your treatment options
- IUI with donor sperm – often the first step. Prepared donor sperm is placed directly into the uterus before ovulation.
- IVF/ICSI with donor sperm – when there are medical reasons or IUI does not lead to success.
Who carries the child?
You make this decision. Medically, we advise which partner has better conditions – but ultimately it is your joint decision.
ROPA (Reciprocal IVF)
Unfortunately, the ROPA method (one partner donates the egg, the other carries the child) is currently not permitted in Germany (Embryo Protection Act).
Formalities
- For unmarried couples: extended registration certificate, family law and psychosocial counselling (recommended).
- Consent to the Sperm Donor Register Act (SaReG)
- For married couples: simplified procedure.
- Consent to the Sperm Donor Register Act (SaReG)
Costs
Unfortunately, there is no reimbursement from statutory health insurance. All costs are discussed transparently in advance.
