121 recommendations, updated: the new ESHRE guideline 2025

Dr. med. Wibke WilkeningJune 20254 min

The European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) fundamentally revised its guideline on ovarian stimulation in 2025.

The numbers

121 recommendations in total – including 46 completely new ones for 2025 as well as 29 updated on the basis of new study data.

What does this mean for your treatment?

For us as a practice, this means: we always work according to the current state of science. From the preliminary examination and stimulation to the avoidance of complications such as ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) – every step of your treatment is evidence-based.

In concrete terms, this means

  • Individualised stimulation protocols instead of standard dosages
  • Closer monitoring to avoid OHSS
  • Updated recommendations for triggering ovulation
  • New insights into embryo culture and transfer timing

Would you like to understand why we use certain protocols? We are happy to explain it to you in a personal conversation.
