Becoming a mum on your own – your path to solo motherhood in Berlin
More and more women consciously decide to become a mother without a partner. This decision is courageous, self-determined and clearly regulated by law in Germany since 2018.
The legal framework
Since the Sperm Donor Register Act (SaReG, 2018), treatment with donor sperm has been permitted for single women in Germany. From the age of 16, the child has the right to know its parentage.
Your options with us
- Insemination (IUI) with donor sperm – the gentle first step.
- IVF/ICSI with donor sperm – when IUI does not lead to success or there are medical, individual and personal reasons.
Our sperm bank partners
- Berliner Samenbank (BSB)
- European Sperm Bank (ESB)
- Cryos International
- Samenbank Berlin (SEJ)
Selection according to entirely individual criteria.
What you need
- Extended registration certificate
- Family law consultation
- Psychosocial counselling (we are happy to refer you)
Costs
Unfortunately no reimbursement by the statutory health insurance. All costs are discussed transparently in advance.
Our promise
We accompany you with full empathy and without prejudice. We are glad to support such courageous women on their path.
