7 signs of endometriosis that many women overlook
On average, it still takes 7 to 10 years for endometriosis to be diagnosed. Many women consider their symptoms normal. These 7 signs should make you take notice:
- Severe menstrual pain: pain that goes beyond normal discomfort and limits everyday life.
- Pain during intercourse: deep pain during or after intercourse.
- Chronic lower abdominal pain: pain that also occurs outside menstruation.
- Pain when passing stool or urinating: especially during your period.
- Heavy or irregular bleeding: very heavy menstrual bleeding or spotting.
- Unfulfilled wish to have children: 30–50% of all women with endometriosis have difficulty becoming pregnant.
- Chronic fatigue: persistent exhaustion that does not improve with sleep.
