Is it possible to fall pregnant despite having been diagnosed with endometriosis?

Even if you are suffering from endometriosis, you can still fall pregnant! The months following a laparoscopy with endometrial tissue removal is when the probability of falling pregnant is highest. We will provide you with all the necessary information on your best chances of success.

Pregnancy despite endometriosis

Depends on the following factors.:

  • Location and severity of the endometriosis
  • Duration of childlessness
  • Age of the woman
  • The presence of additional relevant factors affecting fertility (e.g., fertility of the partner etc.)
  • The wishes of the couple.

According to the current guidelines from “The Society for Gynaecology and Obstetrics”, for mild endometriosis (provided the Fallopian tubes are not blocked and the partner is fertile), insemination is the fertility treatment of choice. In cases of severe endometriosis or cases following repeated operative intervention, IVF or ICSI are the preferred method.
